Hi, my name is Robel. I was originally born in Ethiopia but I have been living here in the United States since 2005. I lived in Atlanta, Georgia for a couple of years, before moving here to Raleigh, North Carolina. When I was younger, I enjoyed playing soccer and biking but now I primarily go to the gym and occasionally play intramural sports like badminton. When I am indoors, I enjoy playing video games and learning how to use a variety of programs which include video and photo editing programs. Furthering my skills in programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro is rewarding to me and it is currently one of my favorite hobbies. I enjoy working with computers and learning more about how they work and that’s the reason I choose to major in computer engineering.

Currently, I am a freshman enrolled in Exploratory Studies with the intent to matriculate into Computer Engineering. Being in Exploratory Studies, I am able to research the variety of majors available here at NC State while earning my GEPs. I appreciate the purpose of Exploratory Studies because it makes sure I choose a major that I will enjoy and will benefit me the most. Other majors that interest me are computer science, biomedical engineering, and business administration. I have not planned out what companies I would like to work for in the future yet, but I that is one of my ongoing goals before completing my third year here at State.
